Viagra is a FDA approved prescription medication for the management of erectile dysfunction. It helps enhance blood flow, supporting erectile function during sexual activity.
Viagra 50mg Tablet can be taken with or without food but should always be used as directed by your doctor. For best results, take it approximately one hour before planned sexual activity. While the time it takes to work may vary from person to person, it usually starts acting within 30 minutes to an hour. This medicine works only when there is sexual stimulation. Do not exceed the recommended dose of one tablet in 24 hours.
Avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medicine, as it can increase the likelihood of experiencing side effects such as dizziness or headache and may decrease the effectiveness of Viagra Tablet.
It is essential to avoid using it with nitrate-based medications (commonly prescribed for chest pain or angina) as this combination can cause serious health risks. Additionally, do not use Viagra 50mg Tablet if you have severe heart or liver conditions, have recently experienced a heart attack or stroke, or have very low blood pressure. Always inform your doctor about your medical history before starting this medication.
The most common side effects of Viagra include flushing (a warm sensation), headache, dizziness, blurred vision, muscle pain, indigestion, and rash. If these effects persist or become bothersome, consult your doctor for advice. They may adjust your dosage or suggest an alternative treatment. Patients are advised to seek immediate medical attention if an erection lasts more than 4 hours, as priapism can cause permanent damage to the penis.

WEDNESDAY, N. J., April 19 (UPI) --
The Food and Drug Administration has approved a trial to use in men taking Viagra to help them get back on track to their desired sexual performance. It will cost about $500 a month for five days of treatment, starting on April 25, a spokesman for the agency said.
The drug is made by Pfizer Inc. and is used to treat erectile dysfunction. Viagra is approved for those with erectile dysfunction by the Food and Drug Administration.
"We think it's very important to know how the drug will work for us as we continue to take it," said Dr. Michael Pearson, chief executive of the National Institutes of Health, who is overseeing Pfizer's research. He said Viagra's effectiveness was a major advantage for men suffering from erectile dysfunction, but also a barrier for many people.
Doctors say they need to know if the drug's side effects make them unsuitable for men taking other medications, such as antidepressants, antidepressants, antihistamines, antidepressants, anti-anxiety medicines, and others.
Doctors also have to ensure that the medication is safe for the user, said Dr. Irwin Goldstein, a psychiatrist at the Massachusetts General Hospital and urologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
The drug is only effective in people who have had heart disease, such as people with high blood pressure or those taking high doses of nitrates. It is also used in children and adolescents with pulmonary arterial hypertension. Dr. Goldstein said Viagra is not recommended for men aged 12 to 17 who have erectile dysfunction, but should be used by men 18 to 64 for whom it is not a major risk factor.
The FDA has approved a generic version of the drug, known as Revatio, but the drug is not expected to become available in the United States until the FDA approves it.
Jack K. Kline, director of urology at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, said Pfizer's drug could be available in the United States at pharmacies nationwide but has to take into account that people can get a generic version.
"We have been very busy with research and we will continue to make progress in our development," he said.
The FDA is working on a "safety" label for the drug that will make it less likely to cause sexual side effects in men.
Viagra has been used for several years as a treatment for erectile dysfunction, but there have been a number of adverse effects, such as impotence and loss of appetite, that men have reported when taking the drug. Most men have experienced headaches, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
"If you are a man with erectile dysfunction, it is very important for you to be able to feel the difference," said Dr. Richard Guggenbrel, director of urology at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. He said the drug is safe for most men. "A lot of men have been prescribed Viagra and they still need it."
There is no evidence that Viagra can cause erectile dysfunction in men who are on a low dose. However, some studies have suggested that Viagra can cause erectile dysfunction in men who are on a high dose, such as those taking nitrates for angina or heart attack.
A study in the Journal of Sexual Medicine found that men taking the drug were more likely to have trouble getting an erection.
But Dr. Jack Kline, director of urology at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, said Viagra was not a big deal for most men, especially those who had never had heart disease or had low blood pressure.
"We just wanted to get the most out of this drug," he said. "That is one of the things we wanted to find out, so we started trying to find out whether this could be a good treatment option."
The Food and Drug Administration said its approval of a generic version of Revatio would not change Viagra's approved label. Pfizer has asked the FDA to make a generic version of the drug.
Goldstein said he is worried about potential side effects, particularly those involving sexual function, because Viagra has side effects, such as erectile dysfunction and the need for a prescription.
